NOTE: There are [2] distinct parts to an HSA.
The FIRST part is a health insurance plan known as a High Deductible Health Plan [HDHP] compatible with an HSA. All carriers have HSA plans offering a sizeable premium savings.
The SECOND part is the Health Savings Account offered by financial institutions. An HSA provides an opportunity to save tax deductible dollars to pay for medical expenses tax free like Dental, Vision and other medical services. Unused HSA funds may rollover and grow tax free year after year! Each year a new contribution schedule is published. The FUNDING of an HSA is entirely optional.
